WHAT IS ABA THERAPY?
ABA Therapy (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is a scientific application of the principles of behavior and learning to build and increase useful behaviors through methods such as positive reinforcement while reducing harmful behaviors through positively reinforced interventions. Through assessment in everyday situations such as home and school, behaviors are targeted and a detailed therapy plan is developed. Throughout the treatment, data is recorded and analyzed in order to show progress of meaningful change and to evaluate, modify, and refine treatment for the most socially significant outcomes.
Research over the last 40+ years has shown the efficacy of ABA Therapy for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
When calling Achievement Behavioral Services, we begin the process by collecting important informations; such as, discussing areas of concerns, eligibility of ABA services, and understanding the insurance process. You will be asked to complete an application, and submit proof of diagnosis from a medical professional.
Once approved by the insurance company we schedule an appointment to assess your child’s skill level and determine best course of treatment plan. Our BCBA’s use assessment tools such as the VB-MAPP, Vineland, AFLS, ABLLs to include in the treatment package. During the assessment process our BCBA will determine schedule, recommendations for the number of ABA hours, and treatment settings.
