Achievement Behavior Services is a clinical provider. We are not a law firm, we do not represent families at hearings, and nothing on this page is legal advice. If you have not yet filed, we can point you toward organizations and attorneys who work with NYC families.
DOE-funded ABA, answered
Does any of this cost my family money?
No. When services are covered by an impartial hearing order or settlement, the DOE is billed directly. There is no copay, deductible or out-of-pocket cost to you.
What if I do not have an attorney?
Many families go through the process without one, and some organisations help at no charge. We cannot give legal advice, but we can explain what documentation providers usually need and point you to resources.
How many hours can my child receive?
The order sets the hours. We deliver what is awarded, and if the award does not match what your child clinically needs, we will tell you plainly.
My order is about to expire. Can you still help?
Contact us as soon as possible. Remaining hours often need to be used before an end date, and we will tell you straight away whether we can staff the case in time.
What documents do you need from me?
The signed order, settlement or pendency decision, your child’s current IEP, and any recent evaluations. If you are unsure, send what you have.
What if my child also has insurance coverage?
Some families are eligible both ways. We will help you work out which route fits your situation. See our insurance coverage page.
